Weeds

Silhouettes of weeds in color. A collection of mixed media paintings with drawings of dead weeds that can be found along most any road. Unlike my other work where everything is from the present or real, these works are made-up. The medium, gel transfer drawings, used for this work lends me to more openness, to create new landscapes with color, paint and the drawings. I like the irony that these brown dried plants, that aren’t considered beautiful, are colorful. And for me an opportunity to create new landscapes.
