About

The unfetter of the abandoned landscape, spaces with random topography, an overlooked space are the situations of intrigue on the roads I travel and paint. The work is primarily in acrylic paint while using different media to bring a layered or tactile look. For a long time fabric was incorporated to bring a relief to the image but this has transitioned to other more subtle effects using elements of paper and acrylic medium. The resulting texture is meant to be the topography of the painting, creating features on the surface that changes the imagery to hopefully inspire a renewed interest in the local.

Paintings are created on handmade gallery wrapped stretched canvas. Each piece is created with acrylic paint with paper. Some of the work has the addition of original graphite drawings which are either drawn on the canvas or added with gel medium.
